San Jose Fit is a comprehensive, low-cost, fun, exciting, easy-to-follow, 28-week program designed to take YOU to the finish line! Part of the national USA Fit program, San Jose Fit started running in 1998 and has a proven track record of helping people of all ability levels live up to their mental and physical potential. Be a part of the challenge! This training schedule targets the timeframe for the Silicon Valley Marathon and Half-Marathon in the Fall.
San Jose Fit is perfect for anyone who has a desire to challenge themselves, wants to exercise and make new friends, wants to increase their body strength and stamina, look and feel better, or simply wants to get involved in a healthy lifestyle sport -- walking or running. Fulfill your dream of completing a marathon! Many Fall marathons also offer a half-marathon distance -- perfect for walkers!
San Jose Fit consists of six ability-based groups: Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Purple (full or half-marathon walkers) and Orange (half-marathon runners). You will be placed in the group that best suits your training pace and goals. This system works because it allows you to train with coaches and other "Fitters" who are at your ability level.
The season starts with two orientation/registration sessions in April at 7:30am at the Los Gatos High School baseball bleachers (near the track) in Los Gatos, California, and meets there every Saturday morning at 7:30am.
